Inspirational Alys Williams from Mold will be celebrating her birthday with others in mind when she walks with her family in aid of Nightingale House Hospice.

The hospice’s fund-raising World Heritage Walk is returning after a two-year break due to COVID 19 and Alys will be walking 13 miles from Llangollen to Oswestry to raise money for patient care and family support services.

Alys is doing the walk on Sunday 10 April which also happens to be her ninth birthday. She has chosen to take part in memory of her Taid, who was cared for at the hospice in August 2019

Alys and her family are thankful to all the staff for the care and support they received during the difficult time and would now like to ‘give something back.’

Alys said: “I wanted to take part in the World Heritage Walk to help other people stay with their families for longer.”

Sam Amis from the hospice said: “Alys is a truly inspiring young lady and everyone here at Nightingale House Hospice really appreciates her amazing support. We hope she has the most fabulous birthday – she deserves it. Patients and their families can spend more time together creating memories because of Alys and others who are considering supporting the World Heritage Walk

“In 2022 it will cost £11,073 per day to run our hospice services. These services are vital for those in our community living with a life-limiting illness.”

Registration will close on Tuesday 5th April.
