A cheque for more than £1,700 has been handed over to a charity that helped support a local family.

Rebecca Williamson and Clare Taylor organised a charity bingo event in aid of Marie Curie on Sunday 22nd December.

The event was held in memory of Rebecca’s auntie Mary, who was cared for at home during her final days by Marie Curie nurses.

A total of £1353.41 was raised in the bingo and £427.84 from funeral donations.

Earlier this week the family handed over the cheque to Marie Curie representatives at the Llay Miners Welfare.

Rebecca said: “As a family we are totally grateful for all the business who donated and all the public for coming.”
