What about road traffic islands that said something about our town. The dragon has made a start by saying that Wrexham is a Welsh town. Perhaps we could have something that has made our town evolve. Market, Coal, Steel, Iron, Bricks, Football, Parish Church, RWF to name a few. Nothing too modern
that only makes sense to the artist though. The roundabouts in Telford are great for giving directions by.

I have seen some one doing the same thing from the Mold Road/ Bradley Road traffic lights. They must have taken the bus road. Strangers to the area?

It’s called being born in one place, moving to another, then going somewhere else for an education, then another place for more education, and then another place for work, unlike the locals here who never leave the town, go to school or work, there is another way

Doesn’t everyone do that? Which is why some of us don’t lump a whole town full of people as bad drivers. There’s good & bad everywhere. What makes you think that all Wrexham people stay in the same place? I know a great many who have moved into Wrexham from elsewhere, perhaps they are the bad drivers.

I’ve lived many places, this happens to be the only place where people seem to think they own the section of public road outside their home, I visited a friend in Ruabon and was told by a neighbour if I parked outside his house again he would set fire to my car, I’ve had another driver in bryn offer say they would call the police to my “illegally” parked car, my car was legally parked and further more has a blue badge, but only in wrexham, where of course the road outside your council house is also owned :)

See this is the mentality ” live somewhere else” this is not a small little village, it’s a big place, and NEEDS people moving here to keep it going, but it’s not a welcoming town, the manor of peoples driving is the tip of a very big iceberg of some very odd people.

I can’t imagine how horrid it must be to be an obvious outsider here is Andy, my dark skinned Spanish friends getting “muslim” abuse at the student halls, following 7/7 is an example I can give you, of the small minded small town ignorance of the people, and it does seem like the majority as those who are above this town but have to live here for work / family etc, well they drive else where and avoid the town centre, with it’s trademark 4th (I think 4th) largest council estate in the EU

It does sound as though you are an inconsiderate parker to have people in different areas getting upset with where you park. I am sorry but having a blue badge does not entitle you to be bad mannered.
I am an outsider to the town. I consider a lot of your remarks offensive (the ones that I can understand). What does living above the town mean? Is Andy Spanish? What has having a large council estate go to do with bad driving?

Excellent idea mate. This is a real issue partly due to some people travelling at such speeds in left lane and then not turning left but going over the roundabout and up to Hightown , pretty close to to cars in the right lane !

This morning someone ahead of me but in the LH lane as I was in the RH cut in front of me to go round past Eagles Meadow. I didn’t get angry as I thought that it must be a stranger to the area. When you think about it though, is it much different to what we do legally crossing lanes on Mold Road by the PO? How hard is it for visitors to the area? The signage doesn’t give you much warning.

Didn’t you say that it is no problem for you to go round by the bypass. If you do that then it will be one less vehicle to worry about under the bridge.
Possibly as well you don’t have to pay for your own fuel if you drive a company vehicle like the WCBC.

Kingsmills Road at 9.00am is pretty busy. I have found drivers most considerate. They hold back to let cars out of Brynycabanau Road, and let traffic filter from Derby Road onto Kingsmills Road towards town with utmost patience. I have been in towns where drivers are nowhere near as considerate as Wrexham drivers. If only we could get them to indicate on roundabouts, most other traffic problems arise from bad road planning not car drivers. Mostly, I find drivers are most inept when letting people filter from the left hand into right hand lanes, ie by Tesco & the PO on Mold Road, but that is down to bad planning.

My personal gripe is actually near Eagles Meadow, right by Anise! Two lanes, the left for Smithfield/left turn only, and the right lane for straight over/right turns, yet half the town get into the left and go straight over toward Hightown!

Wouldn’t it make more sense for the left lane to be for Hightown anyway as most of the traffic is in the right hand lane & the left hand lane is mostly empty. People who don’t know the road find it hard to filter into the right hand lane as some people don’t like letting people in?

In my humble opinion the road planners in this town are at fault. This isn’t a big city and they plan the roads as if it were. The Mold Road by the Post Office is a case in point.
You have an unnecessary one way system there. How can anybody expect strangers to the town find their way around? I saw a car going in the wrong direction by the Lager Club.
