I agree Morrisons need to keep the standard of the first couple of weeks. The herbs looked passed their best and some some of the cooked meat looked dry on my last visit. it is a difficult time for supermarkets with all the holidays , hope things get back to normal soon !

Watch out if you go to Morrisons, many of their chocolates seem reduced but in fact are still the price they were before Christmas, smarties large tubes are still a £1. Thorntons mint selection are still £4, although it says reduced from £8. Their wrapping paper is a good buy, some are plain gold or silver and could be used for other occasions.

It seems as if the Council have decided to run the buses from 9.30 – 2.30 Monday to Sa****ay from March 2012. If it is aimed at increasing trade in the town centre surely they should at least start with a bus that runs all day, say 9.30 to 5.30 in order to test the market and see demand.

When the new Morrisons opened they gave out cards with one “free” receipt and stated that if you collected 5 more (spend over £40) you would receive a free £25 voucher. Sting in the tail , even when you have your voucher you still have to spend £40 before you can use it and all before 31st December!

Tesco are selling packs of ingredients for home bake Christmas cakes, reduced to £3. If you like fruit cake it could be a bargain. Their Christmas tree lights are also reduced.

Lots of lights placed in windows, but far less outdoor illuminations, a sign of the recession.

Noticed this week that the bridal shop on Bridge Street has closed , a shame as next door is Free Spirit a brilliant shop for wedding flowers, favours, table decorations etc.
