Wrexham ITKParticipantThe new ones are fine – bit more modern. They just need cleaning more regularly due to the lighter colour.
Wrexham ITKParticipantAgree with your points Matt. On the third one, I think that the ones they had at Xmas were a great success so it seems very sensible to expand this idea to other times of year.
Another thing, and I know this gets boring, but I wish the Council would look at the bigger picture and be bold with their parking arrangements. They seem to look at the parking revenue in isolation and say “if we reduce fees then we lose revenue” – yes, but you need to draw customers in, which will draw in more businesses in, which increases business rates income and improves the whole feel of the town.
I would get rid of parking charges altogether under, say, 2 hours (to avoid people working or living in the town abusing it) and, say, up to 4 hours at £1. All day £2.
Wrexham ITKParticipantI don’t think they can scrap the art elements of Ty Pawb as the Council have conned the Welsh Arts Council out of millions for the refurbishment on the basis that it’s an Arts Hub. I think they’re already pushing their luck with the market stalls that have been retained.
Wrexham ITKParticipantMy son said he quite fancies one of those prefab container homes. I have therefore given him notice of eviction from his home. Now that he is due to be homeless, how does he apply for one please?
Wrexham ITKParticipantA lot of the arguments and benefits put forward for Brexit at the time of the Referendum have since been shown to be false, so I think if people voted now with a better grasp of the facts, the result would swing comfortably to Remain. If people are so concerned about democracy, surely the will of the people NOW with more facts and a set of realistic options is more representative than the one two years ago.

Wrexham ITKParticipantThe difference is, the plans include a new Primary school, a new Health Centre, shops, etc. If this was Wrexham, the Council would just green light a load of new houses and hope that the existing infrastructure can cope.
Wrexham ITKParticipantMaybe they need to offer free parking to boost visitor numbers. The Parks are designed to improve the health and wellbeing of citizens.
Wrexham ITKParticipantNot everyone has visible neighbours – for example in rural areas (the same ones that sometimes have no internet). Also old people, the ones with no internet, have notoriously bad memories and often forget what day it is. They really haven’t thought this one through.
Maybe the Councillors with their tax payer provided iPads have lost touch with reality.
Wrexham ITKParticipantAh yes, I forgot about the stickers! That was a great idea and saves on postage.
I know of older people who don’t have any access to the internet. The bin men will no longer be able to assume that no bin on the curb means the householder doesn’t want a bin emptied, they may just not be aware of the day.
I guess their response will be that they can ask a relative, friend or neighbour to print one off, but there are problems with that. First, not everyone has a friend, relative or neighbour that they feel comfortable asking. Second, a lot of the “smartphone / tablet” generation that the Clowncil refer to also no longer have or need a printer, they access stuff directly on their device. And thirdly, even if they do know someone friendly with a printer, it is reducing the person’s independence.

Wrexham ITKParticipantLuckily I have a public footpath nearby with a grass verge. Others may not be so lucky.
