wid9999ParticipantWell said Mrs Crewe!
And the same goes for Power Stations, Waste Handling and Fracking sites which could also bring jobs and economy to the town imho.
wid9999ParticipantBut there is good news ….. At least there will be a foot bridge for all those pedestrians we see around there to cross the A55.
They must be so relieved…. one, two people a week maybe!
A continuous left lane to North Wales would be appreciated more to take some traffic away.
wid9999ParticipantIt has to be said I’ve seen the council gritting at strange times of the day recently, very early evening when the weather has been fine and forecast has been fine.
Yes they were spreading grit and yes we all know the lorries use diesel .. it has a cost just like petrol, as does the grit.
For sure we want safe roads but the more “methodical” the council have supposedly got the more bizare and hazzardous the rouds have been in my opionion.
Chester Road and Box Lane at least anyway… and they are major arteries.
wid9999ParticipantThanks Swatty .. I did wonder if it’s a “must do” type of exercise …
Moggsie.. You are right I suspect. As they are temporary lights I don’t believe there is any intelligence in them and this I suspect is the whole reason for the current delays. I don’t understand why they haven’t been put under manual control at the peak times at least. On a basic timer they do not know how many cars are waiting at a junction so cars are left waiting unnecessarily at times.
Its funny how Wrexham.com and Leaderliver.co.uk are quoting the start of the new phase as being the issue. There is no evidence of this new phase yet. This issue is that the temp lights were placed there just before xmas while traffic was light.
The lights are required, but need some help at peak times!
wid9999ParticipantI’m staying positive about these junction changes as I hope things improve in the long term. I’m not totally convinced but I don’t think it will be worse.
However, I do have two queries which I can’t seem to answer looking at the information… anyone any ideas….1) There is no mention of an ‘additional continual lane’ going from the A483 Westbound onto A55 .. but there is mention of some general lane changes. Does anyone know what is happening there? I appreciate the majority traffic is going Eastbound, but it would still help and would seem obvious?
2) Who are the people looking to cross the A55 on a footbridge? I don’t think I have ever seen pedestrians around there? The need to install one?
Any reasonable comments or thoughts?
Thanks
wid9999ParticipantI agree the “gastro pubs” (Pant, Golden Lion etc) are starting to take the Michael!
Even the likes of Nandos who I always saw as an in between of takeway / restaurant now ends up costing you at least £13pp because they have a definite following and its just cheap food.I hear the Red Lion in Marford is doing well.
Slightly out of our area but I had a wonderful proper pub meal at The Royal Oak in Kinnerton a couple of weeks ago.
wid9999ParticipantI said it to Wrexham.com on twitter two weeks ago, you would have thought such a major incident would have been followed up as an interesting news article by them with forthcoming impact.
We get a weekly update on tiny roadworks but nothing on this?
It must create massive internet traffic (publicity) for Wrexham.com so I’m bemused why its not being followed up and used as a vehicle to inform people as well as getting more and more followers.
Of course the failing is by the councils involved, but wrexham.com strive to inform us… Just not on the article which affects most people at once?!
As a side note, i travel to merseyside each day and the Runcorn bridge has electronic signs warning weeks in advance of any roadworks…. Chester need to take note!
We should be seeing roadside information on the work due to begin in September by now.

We have asked him until we are blue in the face and he still won’t stop. We can’t have this week in week out and not take serious action.
Your original messaged looked like you ask him on each individual occasion to move the car. Thats different to a general chat saying you find it an inconvenience having to ask constantly and would prefer him to stop altogether and find somewhere else to park.
If you have done that, then fair enough, take it to a next level :)
wid9999ParticipantA slightly difficult conversation I appreciate, but how about just telling / asking him as you feel it is too much?!
I completely agree with your issue and I would take action too. But sometimes just talking helps.
It has to be a better first line approach rather than signs and police.
If I was the neighbour I would appreciate that more than going directly to the actions you are discussing.
wid9999ParticipantDare i say that for me, my EE signal for ladt month or two is still fine. Not had problems. Lucky i guess!
