What a load of tosh from a doctor well known for loving the limelight.Perhaps if he concentrated a bit more on his practice,it would be a better use of the money we pay him. What are we going to do, set up police roadblocks, all in Hazmat suits around local villages.

We have to live with this virus for the foreseeable future, kids are out and about everywhere, groups of 10-15-20 all playing together. Its obviously receding and its much much safer than it was, use some common sense when out and about and the chances of catching it now are virtually nil.

Welsh testing and the reporting of findings is still the fiasco it was, correct information supposedly supplied on the daily updated dashboard is completely different to media headlines. Adding all confirmed cases since these stories broke is still way below reported figures. Who is telling the truth!! Updated data is 23 confirmed in Wrexham and only 47 in whole of Wales, 11 of these confirmed as hospital settings.

Media headlines of 97 confirmed cases at Rowan and 2-300 at 2 sisters, where is the data ?. We and this government are supposed to use the data to decide on how we proceed with lockdown, how can incorrect figures be used.

For the general public to have kind of security in knowing that the virus is receding, PHW figures and data needs to complete and correct.

If the media is correct then its a complete and utter disgrace from a government more concerned with scoring political points than it is for the welfare of its citizens. If PHW data is correct then the media need to be held to account.

JaneJ, as I and probably most do not have the chance to directly discuss outbreaks with Rowan Foods then unfortunately, as with all aspects of this pandemic, we rely on the available information to reach conclusions. Our Welsh Government with their Covid 19 briefings has quoted PHW information all along and have been telling us that everything they have done is based around the scientific advice reached from this.

PHW has published detailed figures, currently updated at 2 pm daily to help us all assess the severity of the pandemic in all the regions of Wales. We have seen high figures of positive cases with sadly many deaths during the past few months and most of us have adhered to the rules because these statistics showed that the virus was spreading in the community at large.

Personally, this has been my approach to how I have dealt with the situation, with me sensibly avoiding situations where the risk was high.

Welsh Government testing was a fiasco at the start of this pandemic with the Health Minister blaming everyone and everything but himself. The virus was spreading, passed around by people, some unaware they were asymptomatic, while low testing prevented the true scale of transmission being reported. Figures that were reported although high and of massive concern would have been very much on the low side of actual total infections.

Currently we are confidently told testing is carried out much more frequently, is well within capacity and many people are tested more than once. Using only common sense as a guide should mean that the daily figures quoted by PHW are much more accurate and correct, showing that the virus transmission in the community is virtually nil.

This if they are correct, and we have no real reason to think otherwise, should help us the public at large to reach a level of confidence where we are willing to try and get back to normal. We need to return to normal; we need to open routine hospital admissions and resume normal Cancer screening appointments as soon as physically possible.

We will of course have some outbreaks of the virus and we may still get the second wave but the true severity of these should be shown in the PHW daily updated figures and not in poor media coverage or social media gossip.

The mainstream media have been scaremongering or twisting things throughout the pandemic, surprised how some can be so credulous as to believe their latest twaddle.

Very good news again to see positive cases falling, PHW data showing well over half Wales’s local authority’s having no new cases yesterday with the others having very very few. Also the lowest daily death rate of the pandemic in Wales

Hopefully we are on our way to some sort of normality, even after the supposed VE day spike or the BLM protests second wave, things are settling down. We know the old adage that it doesn’t sell papers but perhaps some good news and the return of some sunshine, will help lift peoples spirits after all the doom and gloom.

Good to see PHW data only showing a small number of positive tests over the the last 24 hours again. Data also showing many are in the hospital and care sectors, proving that community transmission is virtually non existent.

JaneJ, You cant have it both ways, either PHW is incorrect or the Media is wrong. If they tested positive and its had time to reach the media then the data should show it. PHW has said most recent cases are in the care and hospital sectors.

PHW data should show a large increase of well over 100 positive cases in the BCWHB region today.
Am waiting to see before I comment

This is Wales, we are going it alone. Leicester or England is incidental.I could easily post very positive articles were no Covid19 cases have been detected in an area.

PHW data is showing 7 new positive tests in Wrexham yesterday, all of a sudden we have the media headline 38 cases in one factory. No actual time frame so it could be over the past 12-14 weeks as far as we know, usual scare mongering

Then dont go, nobody is forcing you to do anything, but open things up for those who do. Shopkeepers and business owners have worked hard all their working lives to earn a living and its being destroyed.

That absolute loon we have in charge down south has lost the plot completely, talking, or dithering about perhaps opening tennis courts when the whole Welsh economy is in bits. Open the shops, open Wales for business, get people back to work and for goodness sake ditch this so called 5-mile rule before we all become unemployed.
Ken Skates issued a warning on welsh unemployment today and its frightening, Drakeford is only interested in scoring political points as seen in his last daily briefing, he is not looking after anyone and certainly not interested in the welsh economy. The instances of Covid are dropping and continue to drop but our economy is continuing to die because the WAG refuse to exercise common sense.

We all, or at least all the sensible ones understand what we need to do, wash our hands, keep social distance as much as possible and be careful. It is all good sensible advice; we can do all this and still carry on with our daily lives.

Let us give the shops in our town centre a fighting chance to survive, let us give our hospitality businesses the chance to become viable before summer is over. In Wales we rely on tourism and visitors, the Mountain Zoo and many fantastic attractions are in dire straits financially, all outside and able to manage social distancing. What is the problem? apart from Drakeford. People want to visit, look at Chester Zoo and Knowsley Safari park, open with sensible precautions, fully booked for weeks ahead and more importantly making money.
Get Wales open for business again.
