What a pointless waste of time, and money. So many other things need tackling.
It’s just a vanity project for a few, of real benefit to no one, other than a small number of people who will gain bragging rights and, if it comes off, will be doing the equivalent of willy waving!

Unfortunately, until education is fully financed by government there will always be suspect partnerships in an attempt to procure funding.

People being forced to use a language other than their own, and being punished for using their own language, has a ring of familiarity to it.
Ah, that would be the English ruing over the Welsh and the suppression of the Welsh language.

Interesting to note, they were third cousins.
    First met in 1934.
July 1939 a 13-year-old Elizabeth was, according to the papers “smitten” by an 18-year-old Philip, who was then a naval cadet and kept in constant touch until they married.
    I’ll not draw parallels!
    The family background is interesting.

If it’s a vacant post there must be funding in place for it. You can’t force people to move to a particular location. I think you will find there are areas of the UK where there have been vacancies for decades, in some posts.
I believe some GP vacancies have, at best, been covered by locums for years as they can’t find anyone to move to the locations permanently.
We now have the problem of a reduced work pool as well.

There will be a time lag in confirmed cases so it will probably peak in the middle of lockdown. Hopefully dropping as we reach the end.

Speaking as someone who doesn’t have children, It amazes me that a midday meal isn’t part and parcel of attending school.
It just seems logical that making sure there’s at least one decent meal not only helps from a health point of view but also has other benefits.
Healthy, and properly fed, tends to have mental, as well as physical benefits.

As has already been mentioned, it also removes any chance of the sort of stigma I remember when kids had to put their hands up if they were entitled to free meals.

    He’s not cutting the VAT.
Vat reduction isn’t available on beer.
He’s using the tens of millions he’s been bunged by his mates to damage the rest of the trade.

I wonder if he’ll get around to paying his suppliers bills that he refused to pay when lockdown started?
