12.45 saw a small bump between two cars on Grosvenor road. Taking us a lot longer to get around due to road closure.

The road maybe only closed for a few days but things aren’t going to get any better once one way system is in place no matter what the council or anybody says.

Complete chaos around the town caused by bad thinking, surely this much chaos is uncalled for?

Well the stansty bridge is now closed and because of the high rain on the first morning the town has been chaos.

Rhosddu road was blocked and I would say what an utter disaster to the start of the ‘trial’ and what a complete nightmare this is going to be. We were extremely busy but were running late as our cars could not get around due to the amount of traffic caused by the road closure.

The more people complain the more likely that this road will get back to normal.

Surely the best idea would be a walkway over the bridge to keep the traffic flowing.

Has anyone else experienced any problems so far?

One way system under Rhosddu bridge is totally unecessary and cant see what the issue is all of a sudden?

Myself like many other driver use the road in both directions on a daily basis and all this is going to accomplish is back up traffic on Grosvenor road which is already a nightmare at peak times. Monday at 5pm it took me 15 minutes from Regent Street to the other side of Grosvenor road, has the council even considered how much longer it will take before the realise the mistak?

If this gets the go ahead we will have another Kingsmills road issue where the traffic builds up all the way to Kingsmills because the council saw fit to turn Hightown road one way.

The best way to solve this is either widen the road at the Crispen lane end or remove the footpath and build a walk over bridge for pedestrians, but this will cost money but look at how much tax we pay and I think it is justified it this road is such an issue.

I agree with ‘Master052’ as I went down there today and an old woman was driving from Crispin lane and was in the middle of the road so I had to stop and wait for her to move over so I could get by. The problem is drivers, not the road so whay cause more traffic chaos for drivers and at a time when we need more people shopping in town all that is happening is gridlock so people stay away and shop elsewhere.

Myself I am dreading this ‘trial’ and just hope the council DO NOT make it permanent!

We need owner drivers and we have a car available for a jockey driver and we can also get more cars if we can get drivers interested in working for us.

Give us a call if you are interested or know someone who is.

Actually Andy a few more drivers will help!

Speedie Cars took over Atax in 2008 and because Atax was so bad we are finding it very hard to shake off the Atax image even though the owners have left and all the drivers and receptionists have left and we even have a new office number.

Current drivers think we have no work as they are parked up at other offices even when we are runnning around alot of the time and cannot keep up with demand.

We need current drivers or new drivers to work for us and no we are not parked up most of the time and are still making good money and losing work on a daily basis due to not having enough drivers.

Totally agree with ‘Liam’ and ‘Bprn Acorn’.

Always see cars staying the in left lane until the last moment and then nearly cause an accident when they cut in. Dont think the drivers realise that a huge white left arrow means ‘turn left only not ‘this lane is for undercutting traffic while trying to avoid a collison and if you are in a collison blame the other drive’!

Tesco’s is another nightmare. The exit is terrible especially on a saturday and I cant understand why the back gate out of Tesco is never open, it certainly puts me off shopping there as Tesco getting way too busy!!

It seems everyone apart from Wrexham council hate the speed bumps!

I cannot stand them as I go over the bumps slowly everytime but they still damage my vehicles and every vehicle I have had has had damage to the suspension in one for or another. Over half the time the cars fail the council test is due to suspension which comes from the speed bumps.

I have only met a handful of people who like speed bumps and everyone seems to complain about them but the council are still putting them in!

Can anyone tell me why they put a big bump on Rhosnesni lane leading into Ffordd Elfed, then they rip it out and replace it with two large bumps? I go over them around 5mph and even that is too fast which makes me drive faster after I have passed them which defeats the purpose of them!

I had a Mondeo a while back and after hitting the last speed bump on Regent St the whole front end dropped after the spring snapped and it got me worried about what would of happened if I had been traveling on the motorway!

In regards to the bumps on Sontley Road, people did complain saying that they were too high but the council said they are fine. The result is I never use that road and go around which increases traffic on other roads, which by the way the council call ‘Traffic Migration’ so they know it happens but still keep putting the things down!!

Down with Speed Bumps I say!!!

As for the town centre it is a real shame all the empty shops, but as I travel around alot its the same story everywhere. Surely the council could help by lowering rates and rents for 2 years until we are out of the recession? Would of been better if the council had of spent the money on a facelift on the town centre instead of building Eagles Meadow!

Hard to think of anything good thats been done! But, I do have to say that Wrexham is not as bad as people make out and there are far worse places to live, but if I was really pushed I think I would prefer to live in a big yacht in the south of France with all the rich toffs but now I am just deraming lol

Thanks for bringing this to everybodys attention as I certainly have not noticed the change in the speed limit!

Very nice of the council to put up signs advising of the change of speed limit, is that lack of organisation on the councils side or is it co-operation with the police to catch everybody speeding for easy money?!

Isnt it strange that the council cannot erect signs to advise of the change in speed limit, but when the drop a blob of paint on the road and call it a roundabout there are new signs to advise motorists?

If anybody remembers the council did the same thing in Rhostyllen when they reduced the main road from 40 to 30 as the only signs were at each side of Rhostyllen! I had been driving there 40 until I spotted the 30 sign and thought I was seeing things!

Thanks very much to wrexham.com for brining this matter up as I will be advising all the drivers at my office.

Oh no this is a terrible thread for me to get started on as I drive days around the town every day!

Worst road has to be the one way system around Dunelm mill leading onto Mold road and warbie is right, why do people stop if they are not entering Caxton place or the sorting office! I have seen a lorry with trailer going the wrong way on the one way system heading towards the fire station from Dunelm mill direction!

Worst recent traffic design: roundabout removed and replaced with traffic lights on bradley road / ruthin road? Why oh why does the council think its a good idea? I can understand the safety for pedestrians, but I have near misses and seen loads of near misses on as there are no filter arrows and the lights change too quickly, and as for the length of traffic, well its a disgrace! If I now want to go to Bryn Offa from the office it is easier and quicker to go though pen y bryn rather than bradley road!

I could go on and on, but being a newbie had better stop as I might be booted for being a moaner lol

One final question? Why does Wrexham have so many speed bumps? They are everywhere and most of my vehicles fail council test on suspension!
