Saxon1ParticipantEnjoy your pint Llayfaithful. To think I waited in all day to see your response with bated breath, how disappointed I was to see just how many people this development will be good for. Did you forget about the people of Llay that already exist !!
Saxon1ParticipantThanks Zinger for these interesting articles.
The Anthrax was in the local papers at the time, as we lived across the field from it and were interviewed by The Daily Post, so there are articles on line.
They burnt the pigs in massive bonfires in the quarry.
This is not a story, its is FACT.We saw cows dying in the fields on Home Farm 3 years ago and we saw them being taken away. Not sure if Cows can get Anthrax ! or is it just pigs – does anybody know ?
Saxon1ParticipantWell BenjaminM thank you for a nice comment, I’m sure it will be the last !
Did you attend the meeting on Thursday out of curiosity ! Just wondering as you would have been shocked at the amount of people there. The developers were overwhelmed and couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Soooooo maybe Nymbies in Llay, what will we do with them all. Lock us all up and throw away the key.Llayfaithfull – still waiting for you to enlighten us all with the benefits we are going to have with the fabulous development. New School, New Doctors Surgery, New road network, new shops, or gosh the list is endless. We are holding our breath in anticipation.
Saxon1ParticipantJust to let everybody know that the PETITION will be available to sign
In Mr’s Lee’s shop in Llay.
Saxon1ParticipantThe only people this will benefit are developers and Home Farm. Would Llayfaithfull like to
Enlighten us all to the benefits, as we would all like to hear about them.
As for part exchange, why would we reap rewards!!
Extremely odd comment to make whoever you are.
Saxon1ParticipantI think Llayfaithful is a poor choice of name, since you have only just just joined the .com bloggers !!
Were you at the turnout on Thursday night !!!
If you were you would see how many people do not want this development. They are the true Llayfaithful !!
Saxon1ParticipantI would just love to know where they pluck their figures from. As noted this morning there are over 880 houses for sale within a 3 mile radius of Wrexham, so if these houses are not selling, who in their right minds is going to build more. Mortgages are harder to come by than ever, with young people struggling to get a deposit. All that will happen in this development is that landlords will buy up great numbers of these houses and rent them out for ridiculous rents and who will benefit from that.
Thanks for the info re Gresford School, it was confirmed last night by the Head Teacher at Llay School that they are also full and she voiced her concerns to the developers.
Saxon1ParticipantYou have to remember some people are new to blogging, but with feelings running so high everybody wants to put their points across.
I have never blogged before let alone used Face book etc, but I am so passionate this development is not going to happen that I am learning fast (smiley face)!! as I have no idea how to do it !!!! If somebody could explain would be grateful. And yes we are making a huge effort to make this happen ! and that the development does not go ahead (smiley face) !!
Saxon1ParticipantWhilst I agree with some of what you say, we are going to be classed as NIMBY’s whatever we argue. Surely planners have to look at the bigger picture, Schools, local GP surgery and hospitals have to be taken into account wherever houses are built. If the health authority is already underfunded then do we suppose they will suddenly produce more money out of the hat, I don’t think so ! In the end the houses will get built, the developer will walk away, and the problems that we are all discussing now will still be there and there will still be nobody to turn to when it all goes belly up.
Saxon1ParticipantSo what are to do go away and give up, not a chance.
If local people don’t have a voice what is the point of a democratic society. -
