johnhoppyParticipantNo matter what we think of our council one thing we can be sure of is that they do not employ people to drop litter. The answer lies with us, and education to have pride in our streets and environment. With regard to the Moss I think it is not unreasonable of the council to expect walkers to hang on to their sweet wrappers and empty cans and dispose of them as they exit the park.

Perhaps you should leave a bit more of a gap between you and the vehicle in front in that case.
Arrows may or may not work depending on the density of the traffic. I can assure you that I am not one to drive close to the vehicle in front of me, but in high density traffic arrows do not work

Spot on there actually.
They need to put arrows on the road.
One other thing that would definately help with that and all the other roundabouts is if people would indicate correctly!I have driven coaches in some of the busiest cities in Europe, and trust me, arrows on the road don’t work if you are a stranger to the area…..unless of course you have xray eyes and can see through other vehicles in front of you. More often than not by the time you see the arrows you are committed to the lane you are in, correct or not!!
johnhoppyParticipantWhilst I am personally not in favour of the prison, it worth noting that the Isle of Wight has two enormous prisons which have been there for many years. They are not pretty to look at close to, but they do not distract to the general beauty of the Island and millions of tourists visit there each year. Its not all gloom and doom.
johnhoppyParticipantIf the council lose it they should replace it.
johnhoppyParticipantIt is little wonder that the Americans find our roundabouts confusing when we ourselves find them so at times. On a lighter note, have any of you tackled the Arc de Triomphe roundabout in Paris which has 12 exits and seems to consist of 6 unmarked lanes with no apparent right of way, If tales are to be believed as soon as you enter that roundabout you are uninsured !!
johnhoppyParticipantI think most of us will get used to the colour scheme in due course, and it will probably look quite good when its finished, but I for one question the logic at a time of austerity the justification of the WAG finding the funds for schemes such as this when councils are at the same time being told to cut back on front line services.

johnhoppyParticipantI will only go into town shopping if I need to visit a particular specialist shop, and then will go by public transport. I would never go browsing in town by car as the car parks are expensive and not very convenient, not to mention the hastle of sometimes looking for a parking space. It is much easier to visit one of the large retail parks that are in the area who offer free and convenient parking. Much mention is made of Mold and its cheap car parking. This works very well, but Mold has a distinct advantage over Wrexham in that the Town Centre is much more compact, and is not a long walk from the Car Park, and consequently retains its vibrant and varied market. With the construction of Eagles Meadow the planners have managed to split the town in two making it difficult especially for the elderly to be able to visit the ‘whole’ town.
johnhoppyParticipantI think it would be better if there was a system of self regulation where registered contributors should be able to draw attention to the moderator any offensive remarks. I also belong to a forum where the article creator has the ability to delete comments from his or her own threads when it is felt they are not suitable. This of course requires restraint by the article creators not to delete comments with which they do not agree with!!
johnhoppyParticipantIf Clwyd CC was reformed there would obviously be a cost saving (I thought Clwyd CC was quite satisfactory before it was abolished), but presumably the old District Councils would also be reformed, so the cost saving would not be as great as envisaged. I think there would have to be some sort of local government between the County and Community Councils if the County was to cover such a large area.
