    Hi Alunh

Re “I don’t know what was said above but I didn’t sense a load of negativity. Have I missed something?” – no, it’s all fine now — wlesh dresser put things into perspective for me.

I loved what you said about study skills – I totally agree! :-)

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I’m new here, like you said, so thanks for your explanation :-) I now understand what you mean about hidden agendas (I honestly don’t have one). I feel much happier now :-)

… and a little rude towards me,to be honest (which I have reported to the moderators). Perhaps the moderators will now respond to my request to close this non-productive feed or remove offensive comments.

I also consider your comments about revision books etc ill informed, being an educator.

No, not touchy in the slightest and need no thicker skin – just felt the need to clarify, as was a little disturbed what I perceived to be unwarranted negative views. Of course, you are entitled to your opinion. I feel sad that what was obviously an informative piece has generated such strange responses. I have suggested to the moderators that the thread be closed. Regardless of whether it is or not I will not be viewing or responding to ‘trolling’ here again – as I feel that some comments are written to provoke a response and I wish to remain dignified (silence being my only recourse now).

My original comment – “It was an excellent day and we intend to repeat the event in 2014” was a reponse to the article (written and upload by someone else) on Wrexham.com about a conference that I organised at Glyndwr University. It seems that some members have taken issue with this (not thewayinspain or welsh dresser, whose dialogue I’ve appreciated – thank you). Simply put, Glyndwr University is in Wrexham and so it relevant to Wrexham in the eyes of Wrexham.com I’d imagine. I also don’t think that promoting the University is a bad thing as anything that highlights and promotes our university in Wrexham can only help to benefit the area. I thank those of you who had genuinely constructive comments and questions but feel perhaps that it is time to retire this thread based on some earlier comments. I feel I have clearly stated the motives for this conference, which was free and a non-profit venture incidentally. Please contact me privately if you have any further questions about my work.

We are a part of student services and open to all enrolled Glyndwr students. We do not charge for appointments.

We offer our services to all Glyndwr students on an individual basis – it’s not ‘a one solution fits all’ answer that can be summarised in a blog post, but an ongoing process for each student :)
