Remember to address cllr michael williams & the council education commitee, Clwyedog’s problems have happened on his and their watch.

wxmParticipantIt’s not catchy, but it’s the truth.
Spin and nonsense is a product of the last 20 years.
Grove Park School, or The Groves, led Wrexham to deliver other quality schools, and a vibrant well educated economy, with a social support structure that looked after its people. In the days of global economics, Wrexham has every opportunity to build a new model to equal its past achievements. Its facing the truth of that challenge, and having a plan and determination, and perhaps a steely needs, to make it happen

wrexviewParticipantI see fencing has been erected around the newer part of the Groves site in preparation for the demolition of the buildings. I wonder what will happen to the remaining building?

I sort of agree with the free school argument… Yet I believe that education should be about equality where every child gets the same shot at life via education.
I’m guessing alot of the millions spent were/are actually PFIs? Can anyone point me the right direction of the figures?
Just to bear in mind that the idea of ‘equality’ can mean many many different things in Education land. For example, it might mean having the same amount of money spent on the pupils. It might mean sending all pupils to the same Comprehensive school. It might mean having Mixed ability lessons. It might mean trying to calculate the needs and aptitudes of the pupils and equally set about providing a tailored education to bring out the best from each student.
I like the Butler Act system (broadly) because it put in front of students a form of Education that they could (broadly) cope with and was suited to their needs. It could, of course, have been fine tuned.
I too would like to see more of the English approach in Wales

Wrexham Community Leadership: Change Wrexham education, give opportunity to the young & elderly
Ysgol Clwyedog (School) is in special measures, Maelor Hospital A&E had an ambulance outside for 3 hours with a lady with a broken shoulder, business and industry is dropping like a stone proven by the decline in business rates. The Groves School is boarded up, Grosvenor Road is boarded up; this was a thriving market town that converted the fall off of coal & steel to an industrial centre now in decline, and out run by its neighbouring Deeside & Flintshire. Education must improve TODAY, good earnings and opportunity must be available to all especially those starting out on their careers, rhetoric & truculence from the council must stop and action must start.
If we as a community are going to change from under performing in key areas of society, and put ourselves in a position for the young, elderly and hard working people to have the best they can have in life … we need to address the fundamentals of society through education, health, industry and quality recreational time to recharge. This can only be achieved by the democratically elected leadership?

thewayneinspainParticipantI can’t sign it, because it’s not specific enough and it’s doesn’t address anyone which incidently is more than 3 different bodies.
It’s ambiguous politics, not for me, you end up getting used.

thewayneinspainParticipantHere is a good example of a wrexham related petition.
