More than ten Wrexham residents have got in touch with us over night to report that the North Wales Police helicopter was flying low over Caia Park last night.

Residents in Smithfield, Caia, Hightown, Queensway and Abenbury said they were awoken by the helicopter at 4am.

However, as with an earlier incident we reported last month in Hightown North Wales Police said they could find no obvious reason for it being there.

Peter Blakemore was the first to notify us of the situation, he said: “04.30 wake up bt LLPD chopper right over looks like queensway?!”

Shaun Richardson added: “police helicopter out around 4am for ages, felt like it was in my room so loud!!!! Any ideas.why???”

Interestingly in their coverage The Leader tried to pass off a tweet to us by one of our @wrexham followers as “a Leader reader”

The full tweet by John Ramm reads as follows: “@wrexham Police Helicopter out again this morning at 4AM.Hope they achieved something, apart from waking my family! What were they doing?”
