WXMRichParticipantI say arguing, yet when the alternative comments include ‘get rid of the poles’ it seems pretty worthless putting any point across.
WXMRichParticipantQuite a fuss being kicked up via Facebook at the moment.
I’ve argued the positives yet as has been discussed before, it’s the negative attitudes of town folk which will scupper the idea.

WXMRichParticipantYou are lucky also that Wrexham is the driest part of Wales! Still a lot of rain though. You’ll need to bring a few jumpers for the winter too.
I’m sure you’ll adjust quickly.

I’m just trying to think of anywhere in town that I have had a decent meal and decent service and frankly, I’m coming up short.
Lemon Tree? Pirellis? Anise?
It’s not too bad for a small town.
I’m not sure if you realise how much of a risk it is to open a restaurant in Wrexham. There simply isn’t the demand for loads of good restaurants.

WXMRichParticipantI’d like to see a nice delicatessen with local produce. There are loads of food and drink producers in North Wales and I’m suprised there isn’t one already (unless I’ve missed it!).
WXMRichParticipantGresford disaster memorial, Aquaduct, Erddig Hall to name a few.
A distant relative recently came to stay with me from Australia. She loved North Wales in general and didn’t have time to see everything she wanted to in the 2 weeks she was here.
So while the town centre is pretty much like most other UK town centres, i’d say we are superbly positioned for things to see and do within say, 1 hour drive/train.
WXMRichParticipantHi,
There’s not much in the way of outright clubs. There is Central Station but the average age is about 19 and it’s expensive (£7 entry, £3.60 drinks).
There are a few nice bars. Voodoo Moon is usually open until 4am on a Saturday. It’s a cocktail bar with a bit of background music. Popular with the 21-40 crowd.
Penny Black (formerly l’etage) has a similar age group although its a bit less classy. The pints are generally vile.
Bank is ok for early in the evening, Wrexham lager on tap.
Ironworks is mixed age group, usually loud after 10ish, small dancefloor. I think it closes at 12 though.
Otherwise there are a few nice pubs on High Street serving real ale. Golden Lion, Royal Oak. There are Lloyds/Yates’ bars near by too.
Finally, The Cambrian. This place shows pretty much the full cultural spectrum of Wrexham. All ages, all personalities. Essentially it’s a pub with a DJ, cheap drinks until 5am. It’s a laugh but don’t take it too seriously and don’t expect ice in your G&T!
Hope you enjoy your night out!

With the ropey weather I am seeing a few of these appearing!
Off the Gresford roundabout there are a couple eroding away :(
Oh yeeee there’s a really harsh one on the garden village road just off the roundabout.
WXMRichParticipantI was shocked at how good the Fruit and Veg section was at Morrisons.
There are vegetables there which I never knew existed in the World, let alone available in Wrexham!
