I fear your reading is correct. The Flying Scotsman is scheduled to haul the train as far as Shrewsbury on the outbound journey and then to rejoin it at Crewe for the return to London.

    So – not near Wrexham.

So where are we with this? Is it still overnight closure, or just inconvenient?

I’ve to pick someone up at Manchester Airport next week about 7.30 a.m.

Should I be heading for Penyffordd instead of Post House?

For your info, I travelled last Thursday morning approx 07h00 from Wrexham via Penyffordd and Queensferry and had no problems at all getting onto the M56.

Thanks to those who suggested routes – I hope this update will help others.

Thanks to those who have replied. Looks like Penyffordd, Queensferry would keep me well away from any possible trouble.

    What’s that like around 7.30 to 8 o’clock?

    Thanks, Rob.

I think I’ll risk it – maybe give myself an extra quarter hour.

So – I understand the work has started (?)

    What’s the A483 to A55 eastbound like at 0730 – 0745?

I have to go to Manchester Airport early Thursday, so wonder if I should travel via Tarporley instead of risking delays.

If those two lanes of traffic enter the roundabout, which is clearly marked with just one lane for Chester, that’s another problem needs solving.

(But my suggestion for contraflow posts was for the bit actually above the by-pass, where the worst cutting across occurs, so it wouldn’t affect Chester-bound traffic.)

See? Vote for me instead, and the council will save 3 miles on each journey!

But really, if I do get elected next week, i would love to be able to get to the Guildhall and back on public transport, which I can use free of charge.

Sadly, the “service” will not permit this.
