bobo the clownParticipantPicked up from the care home, eventually, after no-end of phone calls at 5.30am. A 16 hour wait for an ambulance to arrive.
Don’t get ill folks.
bobo the clownParticipantWell, here’s an update : –
it’s now almost 11hrs since they were called. The wife has spoken to the a medic in A&E as she’s now trying to get a GP to revisit at the home. She is told that once she got there the current A&E queue is a 12 hour one. The place is in chaos …. and there is NO large-scale incident.
That’d be near as dammit a 24hr wait for a frail 88yr old with a fever making her agitated, poorly and delerious.
I’m assuming (no proof, but it fits and it IS what they do) that the ambulances are acting as mini-treatment or holding units so not to still further fill the waiting rooms. That means they can’t operate. I guess if a major incident occurred they would have to do something but a sick old woman who’s in a home doesn’t qualify.
If this was a one-off you’d roll with it. But it’s not is it ?!
Heads should roll. Not for tonight as such but because this is a cronic situation that’s been going on for years.
bobo the clownParticipantThe usually invisible “Dr. Helen Patterson” (& BTW, who uses Dr. in such circumstances ??) may well be correct that “it’s our property so we can remove things if we wish” but has she the faintest idea how pathetic that sounds ?
It remains the case that the Council look incredibly suspicious trying to railroad this through after decades of doing nothing. The reason the building is in a poor state is because it was left to rot while the Council spent years …. and £hundreds of thousands trying to overturn the terms of the covenant upon which the building & land had been donated to the Borough. (a covenant which dictated that it had to remain in use for education purposes).
Their clear ambition to to overturn that term, knock it down and sell it for building land. It seems to have been too watertight to overturn. Disgrace behaviour by this & previous Wrexham Councils over a very long time.
Patterson’s Petulant Pouting sums them up. Back to your hidey-hole “Doctor”. I preferred it when you said nothing at all. Oh, & btw, grow upm
bobo the clownParticipantI would question whether Dr. Helen Patterson actually exists.
Whereas the other named people, Derek Griffin especially, was routinely seen and spoke about matters when did she last pipe up …. on anything. If Wrexham.com went through its archives I’d be surprised if she ever gets a mention.
The one thing she DID do, quite early on, is give her Chief Officers significant pay rises. The main impact of that being that it justified HER getting an equally significant rise.
Otherwise … seriously ….what has she ever been reported as doing ?
bobo the clownParticipant
You’re the one who read and responded to it.
… & if I was childish I’d remark on a 5 car crash this evening on the A483 Southbound near the Ruabon/Overton junction.
Thank God I’m too mature for that.
As you were.
bobo the clownParticipantYou’re the one who read and responded to it.
bobo the clownParticipantIt’s only lunacy if your a highly paid councillor doing a piss-poor job and scared to death you’re own personal gravy-train is about to become derailed.
The lunacy was creating 22 councils covering a country of this size. The lunacy was allowing Gwynedd, with all it prejudices, to dominate all “joint initiatives”. The lunacy has been Wrexham Councillors forbidding any mention of merger in any discussions by Council officers … it’s actually forbidden to consider the potential impact of a merger when making any Council plans.
The lunacy is half-baked, half educated, half arsed morons like him in positions of such power.

bobo the clownParticipantIt depends who they think their audience is. It’ll be lovely for Cardiff (which IS a nice city tbf) & Newport & Swansea and the Valleys. It may even offer a service to the Plaid areas.
If does nowt for up here. Which is why, if you drive around you’ll see masses of aerials all pointing toward Winter Hill. Only where that signal isn’t attainable or overridden by relays is that not the case.
Meanwhile S4C continues to pee & moan about underfunding despite moving OUT of Cardiff to be closer to IT’S audience while it produces programmes 50% of which have officially recorded audience figure so low that they are statistically zero.
bobo the clownParticipant“This” as the kids say …
“The Groves:
The Groves has a covenant on the land which is restricting the use for Education purpose only. If the original purpose of educational use laid down when the land was given to the Council they would have to pass the asset back to the original family heirs. On paper the site has no monetary value.”Various shapes of Wrexham councils have sat on a fantastic facility and let it decay whilst fighting this covenant for probably 20 years. All with the intention of selling it off as valuable building land. It’s been a complete disgrace and all councillors and council officers involved should be ashamed. A great gift was given to the town with that single constraint but the money, energy and time wasted trying to overturn it has been outrageous.
Meanwhile schools were merged, the college built .. maybe 100m from there … yet it stood empty, boarded up and allowed to decay. The council has spent how many £millions on renting offices all over town while the Education Departments and educational Social Services could have used them as offices WITHIN the terms of the covenant. But greed and a disgraceful determination to ignore the terms of the covenant continued.
Would YOU trust them with a gift ?
I’m not sure I’d trust them with anything at all.
