Wrexham.com are delighted to be the first (after the club site!) to reveal the new Wrexham FC Adidas kit for the 2012/13 season. This is the first kit to show the new founding date of 1864, which was recently voted on by WST members (our report here) and our research with background to this decision can be found here.

In April the club revealed that they had signed a two year deal with the famous three striped sports brand. The club originally wore Adidas during their most successful spell in the late 1970s and early 80s.

As an added surprise for Wrexham fans another element of the club’s classic kits has returned with Wrexham Lager set to feature as sponsors, but only on the back of the shorts (although pictured on the front below). Racecourse Ground owners Glyndwr University remain as this year’s main kit sponsors.

The kit and shorts are modelled above by Harriet from the First Choice holiday company joined by Mark Roberts from Wrexham Lager and Wrexham FC Commercial Manager Phil Jones.

Phil Jones said he was delighted with the unique sponsorship deal with the town’s iconic brewery: “Wrexham Lager as a brand has a long association with Wrexham Football Club and now that the brewery has been revived with great success by the Roberts family, we are absolutely thrilled that they have become such a strategic partner.

“Wrexham fans for many years have famously sung the ‘Wrexham Lager -feed me ’til I want no more’ anthem at games, and what a perfect fit for the brand to now appear on the first team kit.”

“We also plan to cross promote Wrexham Lager on a range of merchandise, and we are also delighted that the famous brew will be available on matchdays inside the ground.”

We have zoomed in on the picture to pull this version of the kit only:

Wrexham.com will be sponsoring Glen Little’s away shirt for this season (did we mention we love his scarf twirling antics?) and there are opportunities to sponsor various elements of the club – with more info on the official site here.
