A large town centre clothing store has closed its doors for the final time – less than two weeks after its closure was announced.

Last week Wrexham.com reported that the Peacocks store on Regent Street was to close down, with the store holding a large ‘70% off’ sale.

After a flash closing down sale, the clothing store closed earlier this week. When Wrexham.com walked past the store this morning, all the stock had been cleared.

This is the second time the Wrexham Peacocks store has closed, with the company entering administration in 2012. Although the company was quickly saved by Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Wrexham’s branch was confirmed by administrators as one of the 224 that would close.

However just eighteen months after its closure, in August 2013 Peacocks confirmed the Wrexham branch would be reopening.

Peacocks is among three large clothing / homeware stores closing in the town centre, with BHS and Store Twenty One both holding closing down sales.

The nearest Peacocks store is now in Mold.
