A Wrexham brewery is expanding its production to supply local pubs and shops with Saith Seren being the first bar in Wrexham to host its latest ale on draught.

Brian Hardman, who founded the business, said: “Beech Avenue Brewery is located on Lodge Farm, near Holt. We moved into the converted grain silo in late 2020 and have mainly sold directly to customers. As we’ve expanded into the additional premises on Rhosddu Industrial Estate we’ve increased capacity so we can look to regularly supplying cask and bottled beer to pubs and shops.

“The beer is brewed with 100% renewable energy generated on the farm and we look to keep our carbon footprint down by using British-grown hops and grains.

“The Golden Ale is a popular light beer with a single malt and single hop variety. Our beer range has centred on classic styles with our core range of four British styles and the more recent German-influenced Kölsch style.

“We open as a shop on Rhosddu Industrial Estate on a Friday afternoon and occasionally will be serving beer there too. Our ambitions are to increase availability in pubs and shops and to develop our range of liqueurs. As well as attending events, we’ll continue to organise and grow our own events and support non-profit organisations in the community.”

He added: “We’re delighted to be able to supply barrels of our Golden Ale to Saith Seren and look forward to the launch – the first pub in Wrexham to have our beer on draught.”

Chris Evans, chair of Saith Seren’s board, said: “It’s great to play host to a local brewery and we’re honoured at Saith Seren to be the first bar anywhere in the world to have one of its beers on draught. I’m sure discerning drinkers will want to sample this local brew and from today [Thursday, 25 May] it’s available on tap for our regulars.”
