What do you want Wrexham to be like for yourself, your family and future generations?

That is the question being put to the public as part of the ‘Our Wrexham, Our Future’ survey currently being undertaken.

The questionnaire is being led by the Public Services Board (PSB) for Wrexham, which brings together public bodies across the County Borough, such as health, education, North Wales Police, the voluntary sector and the fire service.

It aims to find out how residents would like Wrexham to be in the future.

As part of the survey participants are asked to “reflect” and rank the importance of of improving economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being in the county borough.

There is then the opportunity to explain how you think this should be achieved with actions that could offer the likes of more economic and environmental opportunities.

A spokesperson said: “To achieve our goal, of making a positive difference to well-being for all, we develop well-being plans every 5 years, informed by a well-being assessment. Wrexham County Borough’s next Well-being Plan (for 2023-2028) will be published in May 2023.

“Our Wrexham, Our Future forms a key part of our well-being assessment, and will directly influence the content of our plan.

“By completing this short survey, you will help us to better understand how to enhance the economic, social, environmental and cultural well being of the area: from growing new businesses to protecting the environment, and from tackling poverty and loneliness to building a sense of community and pride across the region.

“It will set the foundations for how we can work together in the future, collectively overcoming the challenges and taking the opportunities, which matter most to each of us.

“Fill in the Our Wrexham, Our Future survey and the answers you give, alongside research and data will be used to create a well-being assessment and in the future to inform our well-being plan – and this plan will be used to help make changes and guide decisions over the next few years.

The survey can be answered between September 20 and November 1. You can take part and have your say here.

The results of the consultation will be available in January 2022, when you’ll have another chance to tell us what you think and then, in May 2022, the Well-Being Assessment will be published.

The following year we will use this information to produce a Well-being plan that we can take forward together. There will be lots of opportunities to get involved and have your say, so watch this space.
