Police issue statement following concerns over assault in Penycae

Police have released a statement after concerns were raised over an assault in Penycae. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning near the football club in Penycae between 12am and 1am. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

Officers have confirmed an investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

Acting Inspector Sophie Ho said: “I am aware of concerns within the local community in Penycae over a police presence in the area following a report of a recent assault. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

“I would like to reassure residents that our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and for reassurance purposes, patrols have been increased in the area.” ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact officers on 101, or via the North Wales Police website, quoting reference number 23000153566. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​
