Police Issue Rhos Dispersal Order Over Preplanned Fight
Police in Rhos have issued a Dispersal Order to deter any anti-social behaviour in the area this weekend.
North Wales Police have said officers have been made aware of plans by some youths to try and organise a fight in the Rhos and Penycae area.
As a result School Liaison Officers and PCSO’s have visited schools, while officers have contacted some parents to let them know that ‘no such behaviour will be tolerated and that measures are in hand to prevent and deal with any disorder’.
Local Inspector Jackie Downes said; “We would like everyone to have a good weekend, but we have a duty to protect individuals and the community from harm, harassment, alarm, distress and nuisance caused by those engaging in anti-social behaviour.
“The Dispersal Order will concentrate on the Pant area. This order gives officers the power to disperse individuals or groups causing or likely to cause anti-social behaviour in public places.
“Police officers and PCSOs will be able to require a person to leave an area and not return for up to 48 hours.
“The officers will be able to return children under 16 home or to another place of safety, if they are behaving anti-socially and are not accompanied by an adult.
“Failure to comply with the Dispersal Order is a criminal offence.”
