There has been an attempted armed robbery at Ewloe Post Office in Flintshire. Although its down the road rather than in Wrexham we are running the Police appeal for further information to hopefully help track down those responsible.

Police were called today, Thursday 6th December 2012, at 3.45pm following the incident on the Highway Hawarden when a masked man, armed with what is believed to be a handgun, attempted to rob the post office, but fled empty-handed and ran down a nearby alleyway.

He is described as about 5ft 1in tall, wearing a dark hooded top and a stocking style mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Wales Police on 101.

Locally there have been robbery incidents, the most recent we reported on was in the Premier Convenience store Brynteg (story here), we have reported on others earlier in the year.
