Police Renew Appeal After Death Of Gwersyllt Man On Bypass

The man who was sadly killed in a road traffic collision on the A483 in Wrexham on Saturday evening has been named as Simon Steven Hannigan from Gwersyllt.

Police have renewed their appeal they made on Sunday for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Saturday evening, you can read our story from that evening here.

North Wales Police said “Shortly after 6.20pm on Saturday 26th October, officers and ambulance crews attended to a report of a male having been struck by a vehicle whilst walking southbound along the A483, Wrexham, near to B&Q (junction 4-5).”

“Upon their attendance they found that the male, a 27 year old local male, had been struck by a silver Vauxhall Corsa motor-vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The driver of the Corsa remained at scene awaiting officers arrival.

If anyone witnessed this incident, or the events leading up to it, North Wales Police are requesting that they please contact PC 1865 Joanne Roberts of Deeside Roads Policing on 101 with incident number P177178 as the reference.
