Police appeal after burglary at town centre opticians

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have information following a burglary at an optician in Wrexham town centre.

Officers were called shortly after 7.50am on Monday 19 July 19th after reports of a burglary at Jane Smellie Opticians on Caxton Place.

The incident is believed to have taken place sometime between 4pm on Saturday 17 July and 7.50am on Monday 19 July.

Between £5,000 and £10,000 worth of glasses and sunglasses were stolen from the shop.

A spokesperson for NWP Wrexham Town said: “We are now trying to establish an exact time when this offence took place between Saturday and Monday.

“Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time, or who can help with our investigation, is urged to contact us on 101, or via the live web chat, quoting reference 21000502060.”
