“No suspicious circumstances” say police after elderly woman found injured in Caia

Local police have issued an update following an appeal last night, after an elderly woman was found injured in Caia.

Police said, “Following an appeal for witnesses into an incident in the Caia Park area yesterday where an elderly female was reported as being injured we can confirm there are no suspicious circumstances.

“CCTV footage obtained from the area shows the injury was accidental. The female continues to receive treatment for her injuries.”

The appeal was re-circulated earlier today, and reads:

“We are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was found unconscious in the Meadow Lea area of Caia Park, near the junction with Montgomery Road, earlier this evening.

“The woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“If you were in the area between 3:40 and 4:00 pm today and saw anything or have any information that could help us determine the exact circumstances of the incident – please call 101 and quote reference number Q042290.

“Thank you.”
