Man required surgery after dog attack in Wrexham town centre

A man has been injured following a dog attack in Wrexham town centre.

Police at around 5.30pm on Monday 4 April, a man walking along St Giles Link Road, Wrexham was bitten by what has been described as a “Pitbull-type” dog.

The male owner, who was sat on a bench with two others close to the public toilets, had the dog on a lead but the animal broke free and attacked the man as he walked past.

The victim sustained injuries as a result of the attack and subsequently required surgery.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with police either via the online webchat or on 101 quoting reference number 22000231887.
