Local Man Charged Over Hightown Car Arsons

This evening North Wales Police have said the local man arrested last night in connection with car arsons in Hightown has been charged.

A 38 year old man from Wrexham has this evening (Thursday, October 29th) been charged with seven counts of arson.

The man was arrested on suspicion of arson yesterday (Wednesday, October 28th) following incidents which happened in the Hightown area of Wrexham on Saturday, October 24.

Inspector Paul Wycherley tweeted us here at Wrexham.com to say: “The male in custody @wrexham for arson has been charged with 7 vehicle arsons – remanded to court tomorrow #yousaidwedid #greatwork”

DCI Neil Harrison of Wrexham CID said: “The 38-year-old, who is local to the area, is to appear before Wrexham Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.”

On Saturday Wrexham.com reported that seven cars in Hightown had been set alight in the early hours, and yesterday police confirmed a 38 year old local man had been arrested.

Fire crews attended car fires on Stuarts Way just off Norman Road to Waterloo Close just off Stockwell Grove, Waterloo Close, Saxon Street and Hillbury Road all within half an hour of each other.
