Wrexham Jobcentre on Grosvenor Road was closed yesterday following the sudden death of a person who is believed to be a staff member.

Wrexham.com follower @Tiffanyjaynexo contacted us to say that she had been turned away from the Jobcentre yesterday afternoon and that a notice had been placed on the door to say that it was closed “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

Staff at the centre did not wish to discuss the reasons for the closure but the North Wales Ambulance Service has confirmed that they were called to a medical emergency on Grosvenor Road at 9.36am and that an unnamed person was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital where they later died.

A spokesperson for the Department of Work and Pensions said that the centre was due to re-open today and that it had been closed due to a tragedy.

The notice on the door also stated that all customers due to sign yesterday would be given their payments as normal.
