Late this evening around 10:30pm attempts were made to break into two vans in Hightown. One van window was reported to be smashed however the perpetrators ran off after they were disturbed by a resident.

The incident occurred on on Bennions Road, and residents say three men dressed in black attempted to gain access to a white van and then another van parked on the road. Nothing was reported as stolen.

Police attended the incident promptly.

One Wrexhamite, Lydia Williams, encountered a police patrol in the area saying “Stopped my police as I’m innocently running round the corner. Three lads have broken into a car in Hightown.”

Last week police made an appeal for information after burglaries occurred in the Hightown area.
