North Wales Police are appealing for information following a spate of burglaries in the Wrexham area and are reminding residents to be vigilant.

Last night cash and other items was stolen from properties in the Poyser Street, Talbot Road, Mason Avenue and Newton Street areas of Wrexham. Police activity on foot, cars and via the police helicopter were reported late in the evening in the area.

Sergeant Arwel Ellis from the Community Safety team said “This type of crime is most often opportunistic, where burglars take advantage of unlocked doors and insecure windows taking items left out on display. Tools have also recently been stolen from unsecured garden sheds as well as items left out on display in vehicles.”

“There are simple steps you can take; ensure that your doors and windows are locked securely, don’t leave valuables and cash out on display and mark property.”

For further advice on crime prevention, visit the North Wales Police website or contact us on 101 asking for your details to be passed to the Community Safety Department.

If you have any information in relation to the recent burglaries in Wrexham or any other crime in the area contact North Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
