Bid to extend planning permission for Regent Street eatery proposals
Planning permission to convert a long-term empty property into an eatery could soon be extended.
Initiatives Design Ltd, agents acting on behalf of the applications, have requested a five year extension for works to begin at Unit 1B at Regent House.
Permission to change the use of the shop, on Regent Street, into a cafe or takeaway was granted back in 2018.
The applicants at the time stated that there had been enquiries from a “national coffee shop chain and a potential restaurant tenure”.
However planning permission for the works has recently lapsed.
Unit 1B is the last vacant unit in the row of shops in Regent House.
In November 2017 Wrexham.com reported that planning permission to convert the adjoining Unit 1A into a Papa Johns pizza franchise had been approved by members of Wrexham Council’s planning committee.
More recently eatery and takeaway ‘Pepe’s Piri Piri’ opened in Regent House.
The application will be considered for approval by Wrexham Council at a later date.
