One Arrested As Youths Throw Rocks At Cars On Ruthin Road

Police have arrested a youth on suspicion of criminal damage after members of the public reported a gang of youths throwing large stones at passings cars on Ruthin Road yesterday afternoon.

Wrexham.com follower Michele Hill contacted us to say there had been an incident in the area at around 5pm, she said: “incident involving police and about six cars just by Ruthin Road travellers site. Any idea what’s going on?”

Another follower said that they had seen three police cars outside the site as well as several others on the Brymbo Link Road.

Shortly after it transpired that a number of motorists driving past had large stones thrown at their car.

Deborah Murray said that she was driving down Ruthin Road at around 5 o’clock when she spotted a group of youths hiding in the bushes, she said: “I drove passed around 5ish, they were throwing stones then. One bounced under my car making a hell of a racket.”

She added: “The stones were quite big. Was scary!”

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “We received a number of calls regarding a group of youths throwing stones on Ruthin Road. One youth was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.”
