Appeal after group of “hooded individuals” seen attempted to break into garages in Johnstown
An appeal has been launched following an attempted burglary in Johnstown overnight.
Police say shortly before 10.30pm on Thursday (13 January), a report was received about a group of six or seven hooded individuals who were seen attempting to break into garages close to Heol-Y-Cyngor.
However the group were disturbed by a passing motorist and fled the scene.
North Wales Police are now appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage of youths running from the scene around the Heol-Y-Cyngor/Heol Orsaf area or anyone who saw anything suspicious to come forward using the online chat system or call 101 quoting incident reference B005809.e
Further reports were received of a group of four youths attempting to steal a motor vehicle from outside an address in Ruabon.
The males reportedly attempted to steal the vehicle from an address in Wynville shortly before 10.30pm last night.
Police say the group were estimated to be around 16 years of age, one of whom wore a silver hooded top.
They were disturbed by a resident at the address and fled on foot.
