UPDATE: As of 4pm the HGV is still on the road, however some traffic is being allowed past it. Thanks to Chris for the latest picture below:

The A525 is closed this afternoon after a heavy goods vehicle overturned on the road.

Police have said, “Please be aware, the A525 at Halghton Bridge will be closed for the foreseeable time due to an overturned HGV. Please avoid the area.”

Thanks to Chris for the above picture, showing the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attending, who say an appliance was mobilised from Whitchurch and were providing assistance to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
