46 year old man arrested on suspicion of grooming by Manchester police

A 46 year old man who works in Wrexham has been arrested in Prestolee, a village between Bolton and Manchester, on suspicion of grooming.

The arrest was broadcast live on Facebook and later republished on the same website.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Police attended an incident on Alexandra Road just after 6pm on Sunday 10 October, where a group had detained a man.

“Officers attended, and a 46 year-old-man has been arrested on suspicion of grooming, and remains in custody for questioning.

“Enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “The video has been brought to our attention, it would not be appropriate to comment on this matter as it relates to an ongoing process.

“All matters will be dealt with through the appropriate policies, procedures and safeguarding arrangements in partnership with the relevant agencies.”
