Sixty six incidents were reported to town centre police on Tuesday (9 August).

In his daily police update Inspector Luke Hughes also urges people to pick up their litter after mess was left on Llwyn Isaf yesterday.

Insp Hughes said:

The weather looks lovely and with that will come the usual concerns, can I ask that we look out for the vulnerable people in our community. Have they got all they need, can you pop to the shop for them etc. We have a great sense of community in Wrexham let’s look out for each other.

One ask from me for those enjoying the sun and maybe sitting in one of our lovely parks… PICK UP YOUR LITTER… I was so annoyed when I walked into work this morning and looked out across Lwyn Isaf to see that a group of people who had been enjoying the sun as I left last night had simply left their rubbish everywhere, credit to the council I looked back and by 6am it was gone, but really… just pick it up…. Have some respect…

No new burglaries and the investigation into that continues, 66 incidents recorded in Wrexham City in the last 24hrs, that seems high but quite a few are self-generated incidents for recovery of vehicles and general policing activity, what follows is the usual summery with some incidents excluded to prevent compromising investigations and/or to protect the identity of victims and witnesses.

08:53hrs – Report of a stolen KTM motorbike from carpark in Rhostyllen, it appears that the victim was staying overnight at a local hotel and the bike taken from outside.

A possible sighting on the A483 being driven at speed. Picture below, every likelihood that the plate has been changed and the bike sprayed, but I suspect it remains local.

If you see it, call us please.

00:19hrs: Report from a member of the public that a female is apparently allowing her dog to attack squirrels in the area of Bellevue park and that this has been witnessed by members of the public.

I accept it may be in a dog’s nature to chase and catch, but if it is on a lead (as is required) this would not happen. NPT will patrol the area.

11:05hrs: Smithfield road – vehicle recovered due to obstruction / dangerous position.

11:30hrs: Call from Merseyside police as they have detained a person of whom we have an interest in. One officer attends Wirral custody to interview & charge.

12:26hrs: Report that people are congregating near the footpath on Colwyn road – that there are concerns about what they are doing at that location – NPT aware and will monitor.

13:11hrs: Recovered vehicle – driver has no license or insurance.

14:16hrs: Report of defibrillator missing from its location on Churchill drive – could have happened at some point from Feb – July. Unsure if stolen or used and not reported.

14:50hrs: Officers attend a neighbourhood dispute with leads to one arrest.

15:13hrs: Known shoplifter detained on Lilac way, found in possession of suspected stolen property – enquires ongoing to locate where they were stolen from.

17:05hrs: Theft from vehicle reported on Yale Park – it’s my friend from the CCTV still yesterday… it seems she isn’t a good Samaritan after all.

Footage will be reviewed and I will circulate more images, someone has to recognise that head?

5pm – 10pm: I note three shopliftings at various locations in the town, male offender attempting to steal Gin, Whiskey / Brandy – likely for re-sale – name provided and enquiries ongoing.

22:49hrs: 16 year old male reported missed – found safe & well.

00:50hrs: 17 year old female reported missing – found safe & well.

01:20hrs: Rhosddu Road male arrested on suspicious of drug driving.

01:59hrs: Vehicle fire Rhostyllen – Cause unknown at this time – will be followed up this morning. It appear two vehicle damaged in the incident.

03:27hrs: Officers attend to disorder in the city centre – no arrests made at this time but CCTV will be reviewed.

Have a good day all and take care.
