A joint policing operation between North Wales, Merseyside and Lancashire forces has resulted in 11 arrests and significant drug seizures.

Several warrants were successfully executed at addresses in Wrexham, Liverpool and Chorley as part of a co-ordinated two-day operation on February 15 and 17.

Seven arrests were made on Tuesday and all suspects have been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs.

A further four arrests were made this morning following warrants executed in the Wrexham area, with all suspects currently in custody.

A three-month covert investigation led by North Wales Police yielded intelligence on individuals suspected of OCG involvement and large-scale drug supply.

Cumulatively, a total of 10kg of drugs were seized along with cash seizures in excess of £20,000.

An earlier arrest of a linked suspect in late January resulted in a 2kg Class A seizure along with 9kg of Class B substances.

Detective Chief Inspector Alun Oldfield of North Wales Police said: “The success of this operation is testament to the diligence and collaboration of officers working across three Force areas.

“Drugs cause nothing but misery and pain within our communities and the removal of these dangerous substances from our streets is a key priority for our Force and our colleagues in Merseyside and Lancashire.

“This operation’s success represents a culmination of intensive surveillance, detailed intelligence gathering and co-ordinated raids on identified addresses.

“We are relentless in our pursuit of removing not only these dangerous drugs from society but also those involved in the supply.

“People who bring drugs into our communities do not care about the pain and misery they cause, instead they only care about the significant profits they can make.”
