How much of the town centre has historical value nowadays ?
I was looking through some old photos of 70’s Wrexham.
Looking back, we had a functional, beautiful town with heritage.
Then came the developers & the modernisers.
Or beautiful buildings went to landfill, our heritage into a museum and the developers made a mint and went into barn conversions.

Bad decisions with no foresight got us here.

How do we get it back ? I don’t know, but if I had my choice, I’d prefer the Wrexham of the 70’s. Warts and all.

Btw, I’m not living in the dark ages, just loved the character.
We had MOST of the attributes of an old market town.
We now have the attributes of a slowly failing retailing hash up!

Best place to start is Kelloggs they have there own sewerage plant which is/was in a poor state of repair. Workers at skip site used to moan about the smell blowing across.

Sorry to correct you, it’s an effluent plant Not a sewerage plant and is in a very good state of repair and checked regularly by government bodies too deem it so.
I believe it separates food waste from the water used for washing down equipment etc then treats it before allowing it back into the eco system.

It’s also constantly monitored by computers and staff !

In light of the above, I wouldn’t think the source would be Kelloggs.

What if the proposed Wrexham super prison has an ‘open’ element ?
Curfew for just a few ‘ residents ‘.

    Just a thought !

Regarding the re-offending after corporal punishment, it maybe the same rate as sending them to a place where it actually improves their quality of life.

But you got me on the second point, I’m all for community sentencing, as long as its enforced and the sentence fits the crime.

Probably dipping their toe in the water first regarding building it.

I could save them the building costs by creating more space !

It’s not a new concept, corporal & capital punishment !

Why doesn’t anyone want to invest in something for the feel good factor in Wrexham ?
Please don’t say any of the shopping sites. Feel good !

Getting into town at 9am or the weekend is not feel good.

It’s a very interesting read actually.
    Some points:

5Y – Root cause analysis has been around for years.
Wrexhams strengths and weaknesses – delusional if they think a £20k advertising campaign will Raise Wrexham town center.

Wrexham needs retailers albeit in the form of collection centers or whatever.

What we don’t need is an app for incentives, there are plenty out there already.

WHEN Wrexham is match fit, then advertise ! Are you going to promote empty shops to the general public

The greater speed is surely for multiple users in the household. Most phones, a couple of laptops, on demand tv……….

I’m near Brymbo and getting speeds of 21 mbs at the router on ADSL2. I’ve just had youview installed and the engineer slowed it down 3 mbs for streaming stability. Still no fibre up here thou.

Last week I walked out of Asda when I noticed a couple going through a whole meat display looking at the bbf dates on produce.

Are any of the forum consumed by this single day of shops closed madness ?

Yes, the shops are closed for a single day !

    Consumerism driven idiots !
