RobParticipantSecurity has moved off ( Anti-Frackers To Stay Despite Possible ‘Withdrawal’ From Borras Site | Wrexham.com ) however the company say they are not stopping with their plans ( Wrexham gas drilling will go ahead pledges energy giant firm – Daily Post )
Today oil price is down more, and news that 300 jobs going from BP’s North Sea oil work.
Anyone have any data if the two are linked nationwide in terms of shale gas of if this is just local?

Two Councillors, Cllr R. Skelland and Cllr D. Davies asked for clarifications as they had reservations about the scheme.
There was due to be further debate in Part 2 (secret) – but with the current meeting format there is no way for the public to know if they had the answers they wanted.
It could be that the queries were settled during the secret part of the meeting, or not! :D
RobParticipantI just took that as a failed attempt to drive traffic to their site – only 700 votes after what was pushed on and offline and effectively a frontpage advert :)
Social media wise interaction + numbers have not really changed, so whatever happened to get a record breaking (locally) 3000ish Facebook ‘likes’ in a week a month or two back is probably better for them than this.
RobParticipantDoes anyone wish to voice how they would interpret the bit in bold below?
The commercial basis for this engagement will be:
– Fixed lump sum payment for diagnostic review work. This should be recoverable through the implementation phase, provided that it is progressed.
– Risk reward payment for implementation of findings – the supplier will be paid entirely according to cashable benefits realised. Based on the “delivered” phase.
– Cap on reward – there will be a ‘cap’ placed on the reward payments made.

I was stuck behind one such earlier today ‘puttering” through Pentre Bychan doing 30 tops. A more hot tempered person would have got frustrated and overtook.
Reminds me – people who are outraged when they are overtaken in a legal and safe manner.
Other mentions:
– Green Dragon right hand turn lemmings.
– People parking in the bus stop to nip into the Garden Village shops.
– Lack of indication the Tesco roundabout. Its like the Bermuda Triangle for orange lights.
– Same for the ASDA one.
– General roundabout use.
– General lack of indicator use.:D

Interesting article on your news page Wrexham.com. which I assume has been taken from the article that appears on the BBC news site.
No, its the press release issued by NWP. We didnt have the time to convert the aac audio files so had it queued up for today.
The BBC has cut n pasted content from Wrexham.com before, not the other way around :D
RobParticipantI would have to check but I believe that was circulated by a PR company.
If that was the case it would be interesting to know who is paying the PR company for that article, and if its a case of trying to make a story have an ‘interesting angle’ so it gets published or if there is an different motive?
If it is the PR company I am thinking of I do not think I would get too far asking them direct :)
The only times recently I can remember the topic being aired is via such press releases. That to me would suggest its a defunct topic / desperation to create something controversial ?
RobParticipantI agree it was a disgustingly terrible attempt to do that as I have yet to read a reaction to it saying how poor value for money it was :)
Infact there are two “Well done Wrexham Council” comments on Facebook, which is a rarity with others sharing how good it was for the town. One also queries if the cost of the FOI itself was more than the Council’s contribution.
There is also an outside possibility that those who guessed the cost at £30k (!) of public money used for it can see the real cost.
To me the question is what other popular national events/attractions could come to town, how can they be enticed and is it possible to do it on a similarly leveraged budget?
Yours Outraged,
Rob
