This is also a good idea. I had the misfortune recently at parking in Eagles Meadow but never again. The costs there are disgusting and you cannot even buy a one hour ticket. That was the last time I will park there unless they change the pricing structure. But neither do I agree with Wrexham council putting there prices up. The stores in that area such as Halfords, Matalan etc. which have car parks could make money by a small charge which would be refunded if buying something from the store. If no purchase you would just pay the 50p for an hour or whatever as long as it was reasonable.
This topic typifies Wrexham Council in a nut shell in that they cannot “see the woods for trees” and I agree Eagles Meadows prices are disgusting, how much longer will Debenhams and Marks stay where they are ??
MP1953ParticipantI can see this thread getting messy :D

Are they Iceman? I seem to recall one contributor stating that we should ”give them a break”, sounds a little bit like ignoring it to me. As for the other people you mentioned I suppose there are a few things they could be made to do, gardening maintenance, street sweeping etc. Still failing to see that this continued comparison has anything whatsoever to do with this factual events this thread
Because it is a discussion and one thing leads to another? Because it is a logical step? Because people are fed up of working hard and people sponging off them like leaches with no shame whatsoever? For the record, i agree that illegal workers should be stopped. I also think that anybody with lazyitis should not get free money.
Correct // and add to that list top end bankers who are cheating the system on a slightly larger scale than illegal car washers, and make no mistake what they were doing was illegal, but know one is doing a thing about it.. perhaps metalhead would like to shop them?? I would put a link on but can’t find it !:rolleyes:
MP1953ParticipantOf course compared to what the bankers have fiddled and got away with and still are, a few pounds made from washing cars doesn’t even register on a scale, have just watched the panorama programme about Barclays from last month which triggered this response :o. I wonder if there is a phone line to shop them :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Most people probably think that benefit scroungers are more of a drain on our society than people doing some work which is not correctly declared.
Whether that’s correct or not I’m not really sure myself but it’s certainly easier to feel sorry for someone grafting away for 10 hours cleaning cars than people who sit on their ar$es doing jack sh1t.
Well said :):)
MP1953ParticipantVery well said wxm … I and probably everyone else who posts and looks on here would agree with everything you say … “9 minutes to reply”

I’m not surprised they look as they do if they’re outside washing cars all day.
I’ve had my car washed by them and they do a good job.
Maybe we can get the long term unemployed and benefit scroungers to take their place.Yes I agree, I can’t speak for the Sainsbury’s outfit but I wouldn’t have them do my car for the simple reason of the one bucket scenario nothing to do with what they look like.
But I have had mine done at tescos and they do an excellent job.
Of course I know they are breaking the law, but at least they are working here and as you say I would think there are plenty in Wrexham who are just waiting to take their places not ..

Wrexham Council’s approach to this complex question will not be the same as Flintshire’s and this may or not be the “right road”. Without knowing all the specifics of each authority, it is very difficult to calculate the best approach and one Council might have scope to cut in some areas and the other not.
We will all get our NIMBY heads on if the cuts affect our own interests but I do hope that the respective Councils adopt intelligent criteria whatever approach they take
“intelligent criteria” and Wrexham Council :D:D

After passing on the way to or from work 5.30am / 6.00am Most of the lamps are off, just a few for pilot lighting. I think they are all on until about 11.00pm, once the car park is closed then the lights are mostly turned off.
It is very well lit the rest of the time, however if it was dark and dingy we would moan its unsafe. Can’t believe the charges have risen so much. I’m sure their is a bigger hidden plan to close Wrexham.
I think you are right about a plan to close Wrexham, because at least then you could see some sense in what is happening all over the town :( ;)
MP1953ParticipantTook the grandchildren ten pin bowling on Sunday, it was pouring with rain so decided to park in eagles meadow car park, I now realize why when you pass there are not many cars in there £3.50 to park !! a lot of places these days are either free parking or at least reasonable charges no wonder Wrexhams struggling, will go to Chester next time…
