Why do we not have a Municipal Bus Company- if ARIVA can make money running transport why cant Wrexham Council do the same like a number of other Local Authorities and Cities.

Profits put back into Public Services instead of cuts. Why has this not been put forward by all our professional number crunchers and Members in the Council?

This proposal will not see roads tarmacked and town centre improvements as these items don’t fall within this project

Councillors normally attend meetings at set times and are very unlikely to be going in and out of the car park so I really cant see the argument that Councillor X is putting forward. The only ones who may have’urgent’ need for their car would be Members who had a role such as a Fireman and they were on call. Others should ise normal spaces like the rest of the workers in town.

Councillor X is also valuing senior managers and Council Members above the actual workers who do the work whi get no perks.

What do we want to grow — unemployment in Wrexham and Flintshire is now almost at the lowest they have been for 20 years. Business are coming to invest in the area
Better paid jobs is a plus but you then need the workers who are prepared to do the lower paid less skilled as they are still needed.

It looks like one of the only ways that this level of investment will work will be if there a mass influx of new workers to fill the many 1000’s of jobs this bid is supposed to create- do we have the housing and infrastructure – probably not – does the bid cover housing NO.

I appreciate the above would be the view for Wrexham and Flintshire but further west they have the huge Wylfa B development that will create a massive workforce with most of the workers coming from abroad as the area does not have people with the right skills and experience.

Business investment in job creation when there is already a shortage of skilled workers will only create a larger and larger Englan vs Wales workforce.

You only need to look at the building of HMP Berwyn in Wrexham — they were to draw on a local (ie 50 mile radius) for workers but had to extend to 70 miles as there were insufficient in the area.

Agree with your sentiments BUT why then have a touring exhibition that does not have really any real connection locally- the principle of Ty Pawb was that it was a local venue for local art where is this reflected in the launch — the souvenier being produced have more than half the arts people from totally outside of the area.

An angle that is often overlooked is that drug users very often will decide they want to pay more for a fix as they assume the higher the price the better quality the ‘gear’ will be. The quality is unlikely to change but when you have people prepared to pay more for ‘quality’ then there will always be significant price variations and therefore a greater need for them to increase their income from begging or shoplifting. The only ones who win in this drug war are the dealers and the ‘drug’ chain that feeds the habits on the street.

A key question to the Police and other Authristioes is whether there is actually a level of tolerance towards low-level dealing whilst they target the ‘big fish’ in the supply chains.

It does not state that it will stay but neither does it state that the free Councilor /Senior Management free car parking was being abolished to create income.

A free car parking space is not a ‘tool of the trade’ that is required for someone to fulfill their job so unsure what Councillor X is referring to.

I wonder if these are being reported as a ‘perk’ and HMRC have approved the scheme.

The act of providing Free car parking for some staff and not others who have similar non-office based functions is a breach of the Council own Equalities Policies- why have the Unions not brought a case of discrimination.

Interesting reflecting back on some old Wrexham.com posts– 50% of these notes about concerns would still apply today- so much for progress
