    2k doesn’t need to be raised.

    this is now an ideal opportunity to renegotiate with the ‘beach suppliers’ and other service suppliers to reduce costs. And if its private business they will get better rates than what the council could get anyway.

    2k is two full pagers in the leader. Anyone now who comes in to save it, will get plenty more attention than two full pagers… if they’re willing to be interviewed.

    It would have been perceived as a bit of fun to raise money for a worthy cause. Rather than a desperate gimmick by an inept marketing team who read about another town trying it..
