If the Opinion Polls are as accurate as the weather forecast then we could be in for a shock !!!

Conspiracy theory — do the counters in Wrexham have their handbags or other bags under their seats — this certainly is the case in some of the counts shown in TV. Massive risk of a batch of voting papers ‘disappearing’ surly this should not be allowed..

What happened this election no one seemed to be going around with cars and megaphones — very poor atmosphere in communities compared with a few years ago- always used to be fun chairing the candidates vans– anyone else remember those days of real engagement.

Only twelve months to go until Welsh Government Election night!! Are we heading for a Conservative Welsh Government/Plaid coalition..

Congratulations to everyone that took part and their supporters who have kept politics alive-
What is interesting when you look at the figures for the winners in Wrexham and South Clwyd they have both been elected by only an aprox 15% of the total electorate — 85% did nit vote them in as their representative.
I now we ave majority electoral system but that is a massive number of people who did not vote for the winner.

Yep that’s the system. 63% won’t have voted for the Conservatives but it would have been the same whoever had “won”. Compare UKIP and SNP total votes.

Yes. UKIP 3,.7 million votes and one seat. SNP 1.4 million votes and 56 seats.

Little did I think my jest would prove to be true when I started this thread. The exit poll was far more accurate than any of the opinion polls , and Wrexham has become a marginal constituency as Labour now only have a majority of some 1800 votes! Next year we have the Welsh Assembly Elections who would now dare predict the outcome ?

I should imagine that Carwyn Jones is worried. 2016 Assembly elections held whilst the Labour Party is reducing Local Govt in Wales, who are of course a huge support base for the party. Add in the gains made by UKIP in the percentage of votes and it’s enough to give him some wakeful nights.

If UKIP decide not to stand (or limited) in the 2016 WG elections and assuming the Lib Dem do not create a miracle in 12 months that leaves Conservative and Labor — sorry Plaid but clearly you have not made any inroads- Unless Conservatives do something disastrous in the lead up and the IK vote is distributed then look out Labor – we wont have a Labour Welsh Government-
Im sure the bookies will give good odds for a bet on Conservative to be dominant party to form a coalition!
Your vote next year will be crucial

Mr Lucas had a red van with a speaker going around town on polling day – quite oldskool :)
