“The Prince of Wales was on hand to present the England players with their squad numbers prior to flying out to Qatar, where they will play Wales in the group stages on November 29″
A video on the England Twitter account showed William shaking hands with manager Gareth Southgate and calling on him to present the players with their shirts. He is then seen greeting players including Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and James Maddison, before telling the squad that: “I’m really here to just point out that the rest of the country is behind you, we’re all rooting for you, enjoy it.“
His Dad’s first visit to Cardiff as King was on September 16, Owain Glyndwr day, a day of historical significance commemorating the day in 1400 when Glyndwr began an uprising against Henry IV, effectively establishing Welsh nationalism and Wales as a country.
