That’s an eagle eyed bit of spotting!

You will have to do a story on it. Don’t think the local council have spotted it.

I read this and thought “Oh no, I’d never noticed, but now I’ll see it every time I go past. And I’ll probably mention it to anyone else who happens to be in the car, so they can’t help noticing it too.”

    And then I saw this:

So it seems to affect Rhos too, or maybe they’ve just used a weird font. Pant and Ponciau around the top of the wheel look normal though.

The only thing that annoys me with this statue is the location. This would be more suited towards Johnstown? rather than just before Plas Madoc.

I don’t know why but the location just seems completely wrong to me.

Wynnstay colliery was near Plas Madoc. The stone built winding tower is still there. Over 30 men lost their lives underground here.

I’ve noticed a few buildings in the bushes (across the road from the caravan place)which I presume are part of the colliery. It would be nice if the area was cleared of bushes etc and the buildings made visible from the road.
