Wrexham Residents Face Third Night Without Street Lights
Fears about safety on a Wrexham estate have been raised as a number of residents face a third night without street lights.
Residents on Trevenna Way, Caia Park are facing a third night without streetlights this evening after a believed phone box fire on Sunday affected the power.
We’re told that Cheshire View, Arches Way and Holt Road in the Caia Park area have also been affected.
Now concerns about safety in the area have been raised after an elderly woman reportedly slipped off a kerb yesterday evening.
Louise contacted Wrexham.com to say: “Luckily no injuries were caused to her but I believe that this wouldn’t have happened if the lights had been on.
“What will need to happen for Wrexham Council to pull their finger out? Well as a mum to a three month old baby, I hope to God nothing happens to her.”
Kelly added: “It’s the same outside our house. When I am going to work at night it is pitch black- makes me wonder why I pay my council taxes.”
Earlier this year the same street suffered issues with streetlights for several weeks.
A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “We have been made of this issue and our contractors are on site trying to identify the cause of the problem.”
