Video: “Come Home Kelsey” – Father Makes Appeal At Police Press Conference
North Wales Police have held a press conference this afternoon alongside the father of missing 14 year old Kelsey Bodman.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen Kelsey specifically after the 8.15am Friday sighting in Flint to come forward with information in what has been described as an ‘out of character’ disappearance.
Kelsey’s father, Mark Hulme appealed directly to her saying: “Come home, you are not in trouble, we just want you safe.”
Superintendent Sian Beck from North Wales Police appealed directly to Kelsey, saying “Please get in contact with your family. You are not in trouble, and your mum and dad want you to come home safely.”
Kelsey has been attempting to exchange a one hundred dollar note, and anyone who is aware of such attempts are asked to contact police via the 101 number.
Our video of the full press conference is below:
Superintendent Beck said: “Kelsey Bodman, a 14 year old school girl has been missing since last Thursday. Kelsey’s family and ourselves in North Wales Police are very concerned for her safety. It is out of character for Kelsey to go missing. We have a dedicated team of detectives who are trying to locate Kelsey.
“On Thursday 22 September Kelsey finished school in Penley and travelled by bus back to the Brymbo area where she spent Thursday evening with friends.
“Later that evening she went to Asda in Wrexham where she tried unsuccessfully to exchange a $100 note.
“Detectives are currently piecing together her movements overnight.
“CCTV confirms that she visited supermarkets in the Flint are on Friday morning where again we believe that she was trying, unsuccessfully, to get the $100 note exchanged.
“The last confirmed sighting of Kelsey is at 8.15 on Friday morning when she bought a bread roll from Tesco Express in Flint. She was wearing an olive green jacket, black skinny trouser, white trainers and was carrying a white plastic bag. Since that time neither her family or friends have had contact from her.
“First and foremost I am appealing directly to Kelsey. Kelsey, if you are listening please make contact with your family or North Wales Police. You are not in trouble and your mum and dad want you home safely
“I am also appealing to members of the public who have seen Kelsey since Friday morning or know where she is to get in contact.
“And finally I am appealing to the public and staff working in retail premises where Kelsey may have attempted to exchange the $100 note.
“Please contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting incident number U144861.”
