A number of people have been in touch this morning to tell us that a security van was ‘under attack’ outside the Co-operative Travel.

The SSG van was parked outside the Co-operative Travel in town and was ‘allegedly under attack’.

One person also told us that it looked as though the driver was locked in the van.

Two police cars were in attendance and security alarms were going for a while.

Fortunately this incident seems to have been a false alarm. One onlooker told us that generally when a panic button is hit, it resets itself after 30 minutes. However in this instance it kept going off.
